NASA scientists predict that the giant asteroid Apophis will enter Earth’s atmosphere in 2029. Could this be the prophecy from Revelation 8 about “a star whose name is Wormwood”?
Job chapter 33 says:
“Why do you contend with Him? For He does not give an accounting of any of His words. For God may speak in one way, or in another, yet man does not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, while slumbering on their beds, then He opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction, in order to turn man from his deed, and conceal pride from man.” – Job 33
Tom Horn had already predicted the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI, which took place in 2013. His next vision — a dream — foresees a powerful asteroid striking the earth in 2029, which may be the fulfillment of the biblical prophecy in Revelation chapter 8 concerning a star named Wormwood.

The word used in the Bible in this prophecy, “and a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch” – Rev 8:10, is the word “aster,” which in Greek means ASTEROID. Here are the first four “trumpets” in this prophecy:
The first trumpet sound:
“And there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth; and a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.” – Rev 8:7
These are the first fragments pushed ahead of the approaching asteroid.
The second trumpet sound:
“Then the second angel sounded: and something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood. And a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.” – Rev 8:8-9
This is the breakup of a double asteroid, such as Apophis, and its first impact in the sea.
The third trumpet sound:
“Then the third angel sounded: and a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters became wormwood, and many men died from the water, because it was made bitter.” – Rev 8:10-11
This is the contamination of a third of the earth’s waters and the death of many people as a result of the impact.
The fourth trumpet sound:
“Then the fourth angel sounded: and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened. A third of the day did not shine, and likewise the night.” – Rev 8:12
This is a one-third darkening of the earth, caused by an enormous amount of debris lifted into the atmosphere. The light of the sun and moon will not be able to break through to the earth.
Apophis was discovered at the Kitt Peak National Observatory in 2004. NASA then named it Apophis (in Egyptian mythology, the god of war and chaos). It measures 450m x 170m, or in other terms, the equivalent of four NFL football fields. It is estimated to weigh 20 million tons. It travels at a speed of 45,000 km/h (over 30 km/s).
The distance from Earth to the Moon is exactly 384,403 km, while according to JPL data from 2018, the asteroid will come closest to Earth on Friday, April 13, 2029. It will then pass Earth at a distance of about 38,000 km (less than 1/10 of the distance between Earth and the Moon) — that is, 10 times closer than the moon. Taking into account our planet’s gravitational pull and margins of error in the calculations, we could be in for anything. Our satellites placed in space are positioned up to an altitude of 36,000 km inclusive! It will pass closer than the distance of geosynchronous satellites.
According to NASA experts, if it were to hit Earth, the point of impact would most likely fall somewhere along the border between Mexico and California — a very densely populated area.
The force of the impact would be comparable to detonating every nuclear warhead on Earth — in China, America, Russia… all in one place. That is how powerful the impact of the Apophis asteroid on Earth would be.
“And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars (the asteroid); and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth (for they will see it approaching), for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.” – Luke 21:25-26
