Install the KChwCz App

Want to have our site always within reach — no digging through bookmarks, no typing the address, just one tap? You can install kosciol.czest.pl on your phone or computer exactly like a regular app. No need to visit the Play Store or App Store, nothing to download, no account to create — the whole “installation” takes less than a minute and happens right in your browser.

The result feels very close to a real mobile app: an icon appears on your phone’s home screen, and tapping it opens the site in its own window, without the browser’s address bar — just like a native app downloaded from a store.

How is this different from a regular app?

What you’re installing is a so-called Progressive Web App (PWA) — a modern standard that combines the convenience of a website with the functionality of a mobile app. In practice, this means that instead of waiting for a developer to build, submit, and maintain a separate version for Android and another for iOS, the same site automatically “becomes” an app on both systems at once. It updates itself in the background, so you always have the latest version without downloading any updates from a store.

The only difference from a classic app is that you won’t find it by searching the Play Store or App Store — you install it directly from your browser, following the steps below.

How to install — pick your device

📱 Android (Chrome, Brave, Samsung Internet)

  1. Open kosciol.czest.pl in Chrome (or a similar browser).
  2. Tap the three-dot icon (⋮) in the top-right corner.
  3. Choose “Install app” or “Add to Home screen”.
  4. Confirm — the KChwCz icon will appear on your home screen.

💡 Sometimes Chrome will offer to install it via a bar at the bottom of the screen — just tap “Install”.

🍎 iPhone / iPad (Safari only)

  1. Open kosciol.czest.pl in Safari (installation only works from Safari, not from Chrome on iOS).
  2. Tap the Share icon ⬆️ on the bottom bar.
  3. Scroll down and choose “Add to Home Screen”.
  4. Tap “Add” in the top-right corner.

💡 This is the most common mistake: on iPhone, installation only appears in Safari — Chrome or any other browser on iOS won’t show it.

💻 Computer (Chrome, Edge)

  1. Open kosciol.czest.pl.
  2. Look for the install icon (a computer symbol with an arrow) on the right side of the address bar and click it.
  3. Click “Install” — the site will open as a separate app window, which you’ll also find in your Start menu / Launchpad.

Frequently asked questions

Does it cost anything?

No. It’s just a regular, free website — installing it only adds a convenient shortcut and full-screen mode. There are no fees, subscriptions, or hidden costs.

Does it take up a lot of space on my phone?

No — this isn’t a full app downloaded from a store, so it takes up a fraction of the space, since in practice it’s a shortcut to a website with some extra features.

How do I turn on notifications?

When you visit the site, your browser will ask for permission to send notifications — just confirm to receive updates about new sermons, articles, and events. You can withdraw this permission at any time in your browser or phone settings.

Is it safe?

Yes. You’re installing the exact same, secure website (encrypted connection) that you visit in your browser — you’re not downloading any separate installation file from an unknown source, as sometimes happens with apps from outside official stores.

How do I remove the app?

The same way as any other app or shortcut — press and hold the icon on your home screen and choose to remove/uninstall it. Nothing is “installed” deeper into the system, so removing it is just as easy as adding it.
